A Short PostMil. Battle Cry

(I wrote the following in a thread over at the American Vision blog forums.  I think anyone can benefit from what I wrote though, even if they don’t read the entire discussion. So, enjoy.  And hopefully it will inspire.)

One day, when we’re in the trenches…

You’ll all think back to this particular conversation and almost at once, as if spoken from the same mind, realize that I was right all along.

“Right about what?” you may be asking, in your current state, unaided by the hindsight of your future selves…

In answer to this frantic inquiry of the yet to be tormented soul, I have only a humble reply:

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!

Let your rejoicing be a cry of outrage at the current state of affairs. Should we err in our maner, let it be to the side of action, and not complacency. Let our stones fly free to the Goliaths of our age, and let us charge forth to meet them in battle!

I see in you all the same fear that would take the heart of me. (Thanks Tolkien!) The day may come when the faith of God’s people fail…but it is NOT this day!

Let the soft-hearted women with kind demeanors and pious sensibilities beware. There is a time for peace, and a time for war. A time to love, and a time to kill.

God’s fury will sweep the unrighteous nations of the world in a flood of regeneration that even fundamentalist Baptists will shake at and perhaps proclaim to the joyful door man how wondrous of a thing to behold the Lord’s wrath on mankind.

There is no greater tract for them to hand out than the revitalizing TRUE revival of the spirit of God!

Yes you suffering Christians of the future: Rejoice in the Lord always, in good times and bad, and fear not the world or its ways; for our God has overcome this world, and we are victorious.

Let us all arm ourselves, not for complacency and kind thoughts, but rather for war, contention, and conflict! We’ll gladly meet the foe head on, and despite the terrible darkness wrought by the most wicked of created things, we’ll cry out:

Rejoice…Rejoice…and again I say Rejoice!!!

Amen.

Wow. It’s amazing how God fits things together in our randomness!

Sunday one of the guest preachers was dealing with this subject. We Christians have taken on such a defensive attitude; we defend our little square and think we’re doing so much for God. Ba thunders! How did “defence mantality” creep into our lives anyway? We’re to be on the offence!!!

    Nice post.

    Thanks for the kind words!
