(Written in response to “Dear Young, Christian Husband…”)
Dear Meddling Housewife,
You don’t know me, but, I’m a friend of your husbands. He is too much of a putz to keep you from maliciously fantasizing about good Christian men, so I’m stepping in to help out.
You see, just because you have a womb, doesn’t mean you know everything there is to know about families, life, or children. I’d like to implore you to realize that it takes two to make a baby – it’s not the sole work of the woman. And while you may not believe this, there is a “longing” of sorts within us men, as well, to extend our family line.
God put us on this Earth to take dominion, and part of accomplishing our task, is leaving heirs to inherit what we, and generations before us, have worked very hard to provide. We may not cry about it in grocery store parking lots, but believe me when I say, good Christian men want children just as badly as you do.
So, the next time you or your friends meet up to eat ice cream and watch romantic comedies, and you feel the need to run down your husbands because they may be thinking about financial strategy instead of pure numbers … thank them, instead of writing a blog.
